Victoria House was built in 1886 by Alexander H. McIntosh, the founder of the local furniture manufacturers, A.H. McIntosh & Co. Ltd.
In later years the grand Victoria House was sold and developed into a Hotel which is owned by Mr Mario Caira. Under his sister Gina's supervision, together with a friendly capable staff, the Hotel has become a first class establishment.
Centrally situated, minutes from both the rail and bus stations, the hotel has two dining rooms, one of which has the original oak panelling. 21 bedrooms, all with private facilities including telephone, iron and ironing board, trouser press, complimentary beverage tray and colour TV, spacious lounge, function room capable of seating up to 160, central heating throughout and an ample car park.
The Victoria Hotel has become renowned for its excellent cuisine. It has an extensive array of A La Carte dishes including Seafood and Italian, Bar Lunches, Snacks, High Teas and Suppers are also available.
There are also special Function Menus and a very comprehensive Wine List.
There are 21 extremely comfortable and attractive en-suite bedrooms, complete with colour television (including Sky), telephone, iron and ironing board, trouser press and a complimentary beverage tray.
